Teen Party Games

Hilarious teen party games!

These teenage party games are all great fun and are particularly suitable for younger teens.

Teen Party Games - Aces High

Teen Party Game

Aces High

~A quick but fun game and a good icebreaker~

What you need:

  • A pack of playing cards

You need to prepare your cards in advance depending on the number of players. You want the ace, king, queen and jack of 2 suits for at least 2 teams. But if you have more guests you can either include another suit or include the 10, 9 , 8 etc for each suit.

Which ever way you do it you want to end up with the same numbers of cards (starting from Ace) for each suit.

Discard the other cards.

You then shuffle and place all the cards face down on the floor.

When you shout "GO" everyone grabs a card. Whoever gets an ace should immediately run to an agreed line where they sit down and shout out the name of their suit. The other cardholders of their suit must follow in order sitting on the lap of their ace in descending order.

The minute your suit is in place and everyone seated you all shout the name of your suit and raise your hands in the air.

First team to do so wins.

Variation - If your furniture can take it you can have the aces sit on a chair before everyone piles onto their lap.

Teen Party Games - Rock and Pop!

~This is a common kids party game but just as popular with teenagers~

What you need:

  • A balloon and a piece of string for every guest

Each guest blows up their balloon and ties it to their ankle. Its best to have the balloons quite close to your heel.

Put on some music to which everyone dances around. The minute the music stops, or better still changes to your favourite hard core rock number, everyone tries to stamp on and pop everyone else's balloon.

Once your balloon pops you are out. After 30 seconds of mayhem the dancing starts again.

You can do a variation on this by having different coloured balloons for 2 teams who have to try to work together to pop their rivals.

Teen Party Games - Clothespeg Scramble

~Hanging out the washing was never this much fun~ Teenage Party Game

What you need:

  • 7 clothes pegs for each guest.

Each guest attaches 7 clothes pegs to their clothes. These can be top, bottom, back or front.

Turn on some music and shout "GO".

The object of the game is to steal pegs from other people and peg them to your self, but you are only allowed to hold 1 peg in your hand at any time.

Players dance about but any chance they get they steal a peg from someone else whilst trying not to lose any of their own.

Don't forget you can only have one peg in your hand at a time so the minute you have stolen a peg you must peg it on to yourself before you can grab another.

This will lead to some fast and furious peg snatching!

The winner is the person with the most pegs attached to their clothes either after 2 minutes or at the end of the song.

Teen Party Games - What's My Name?

~A simple game when everyone else knows the answer ...except you!~

What you need:

  • A pack of post it notes

Each guest has a post it note with the name of a famous person written on it slapped onto their forehead so that everyone in the room can read it except them.

Each person in turn then has to find out "who they are" by asking questions that can only be answered by yes or no such as:

  • Am I still alive?
  • Am I a fictional character?
  • Am I good looking?

Some great possibilities for your post it celebrities are :

  • Jennifer Anniston
  • Nicole Kidman
  • Pink
  • Madonna
  • Zac Efron
  • Harry Potter
  • William Shakespeare
  • Scooby Doo

The winner is the person who guesses their name in the least number of questions.

Teen Party Games - Perfect Circle

~This is a simple balancing exercise for larger groups~

Everyone forms a circle holding the hips of the person in front.

At a given signal everyone slowly bends their knees and "sits" on the lap of the person behind them.

If you get this right you will have a perfect self supporting circle.

Teen Party Games - Body Ball

~You need to work closely with your partner for this fun game~

Teen Party Games

What you need:

  • A round football or beach ball

Pair off your guests.

Partners try to get the ball from the ground to between their foreheads.

They can use any part of their body except their hands and arms.

Teen Party Games - Cereal Box

~This is another simple kids game but is just as funny for teenagers~

What you need:

  • An empty cereal packet
  • A pair of scissors

An open, empty cereal packet is placed upright on the ground. The object of the game is to pick it up in your teeth. No hands on the floor or kneeling down allowed.

This starts off being quite straight forward and most people will manage it. But once everyone has had a go the top 3cms is cut off the top of the packet.

Now its harder. After another round a further 3cms is removed.

The game continues with the box getting progressively smaller each round until only a few people will manage to pick it up.

You may like to reduce by just 1cm for the last few rounds.

Teen Party Ideas - Pass The Matchbox

~Easy for a person who "nose" what they are doing!~

What you need:

  • A matchbox

Take the matchbox and discard the matches and inner tray.

All the players sit around the table or on the floor. You may want to set things up boy, girl, boy, girl....

The first player places the matchbox over their nose.

They must then pass it on to the next player who may only use their nose to take it from them.

This will involve considerable facial contortions, head tilting and other very peculiar movements. Strictly no hands allowed.

The matchbox continues around the circle until everyone has had a go.

Alternatively you could line up 2 teams. The first to transfer the matchbox all the way down their teams line wins.

Variation. One person is blind-folded and then has to guess the name of the person who passes them the matchbox.
